The Commission published its proposal for Horizon Europe, an ambitious €100 billion research and innovation programme that will succeed Horizon 2020 as of 2021 and lasting until 2027. In the event, we will get the latest update on the state of play of this programme (budgeting approval, timing, etc.) and next steps and milestones. We will dig in the potential opportunities for stakeholders interested in freight transport and logistics research and innovation.

Several areas have been identified within the Orientations towards the first Strategic Plan for Horizon Europe (Link to the document) as relevant for ALICE Roadmaps implementation and will be part of the scope of the event.

Different instruments are proposed to address these areas including collaborative research in open calls, Partnerships and Missions. In the event we will share and discuss the different approaches used.

Moreover, we have collected research & innovation topics from members to be addresses in future calls and we have extracted some other topics from our roadmaps and previous recommendations. These topics have been already shared with the European Commission as preliminary inputs. By the end of February, the European Commission may have a list of topics titles to kick of preparation of the first Horizon Europe work programmes.
