BoostEDIC M&L is a Digital Europe Programme action funded under the call DIGITAL-2024-CLOUD-AI-06-MOBSPACE. It aims to strengthen the EU’s digital capacities in transport by improving data infrastructures for a smarter and more sustainable European mobility and logistics system, through multi-country use cases, common data spaces and interoperability.

The project starts on 1 January 2026 and runs for 48 months, until 31 December 2029. It is implemented by a consortium of 21 beneficiaries and 3 associated partners, bringing together public authorities, research and technology organisations, and European network organisations.

BoostEDIC M&L will deliver key outputs to support the future European Digital Infrastructure Consortium for Mobility and Logistics Data (EDIC M&L) and the European Mobility Data Space. The main project outputs include a collaboration structure, a Knowledge Hub, a coordination roadmap, recommendations for the foundational elements for data access and exchange, cross-border use cases, and evaluation reports.

BoostEDIC M&L focuses on several strategic objectives:

    • Establish a sustainable collaboration structure and operational support for the future EDIC M&L, including recommendations for an asset portfolio and continuity of operations.
    • Build and operate the Knowledge Hub as a platform for sharing practical information on infrastructure, tools, standards and agreements, complemented by an interactive toolkit.
    • Conduct a gap analysis and produce interoperability recommendations to address architectural and operational gaps in European data and service infrastructures supporting mobility and logistics data exchange.
    • Fund and manage cross-border mobility and logistics use cases through two open calls providing financial support to third parties. The project plans to award eight use cases in total, with up to 1,000,000 euro per use case and a required 50 percent co-financing.
    • Deliver communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, including a vision statement, a project website providing access to the Knowledge Hub, events promoting the project and the open calls, and targeted outreach to SMEs and other data space initiatives.
    • Ensure governance alignment and continuity by enabling the EDIC M&L to join the project once legally established, and by preparing the transfer of relevant tasks and outputs during the project lifetime.
